Most of this work was actually done by Ben on the previous day (day 7), but I resurrected it today and made a bunch of changes.
The Optiplexes have been reborn as hyper1, hyper2, and hyper3. I’ve decided
to stop manually installing them and use Cobbler for PXE provisioning instead.
Set up Cobbler on will and wrote a kickstart template for AlmaLinux 9 on the
Dell 7090 machines. Also wrote an iPXE boot script and configured the distro,
profile, and system entries for all three hypervisors. The idea is that I can
wipe and reinstall any of them by just rebooting into PXE — no USB drives, no
manual clicking through the installer.
Also wrote a README documenting all the files and where they live on the Cobbler server, mostly so future me knows what goes where.
